About The Position

The Bartender creates a friendly, welcoming atmosphere by providing enthusiastic greetings, warm assistance, and genuine farewells. Whether making a guest laugh while serving their favorite cocktail or helping a guest, they are energetic, confident, methodical, and able to work quickly in fast-paced environments. A good Bartender builds rapport with guests so that the guest feels appreciated and recognized every time they walk in the door.

Requirements

  • Regularly stand and walk for eight to ten hours; climb sets of stairs repetitively throughout shift; occasionally required to sit, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Consistently reach shoulder level, above head, below waist; push, pull, lift and carry twenty-five (25) pounds including up flights of stairs, occasionally lift excess of fifty (50) pounds.
  • Must be able to work in environmental exposure to low or high volume noise, cold, heat, water, and cleaning materials.
  • Passible understanding of English Language, writing skills and basic mathematics.
  • Submit to and pass State and Federal criminal background checks.

  • Preferred have alcohol safety training; ASK or ServSafe Alcohol, required to acquire with company sponsorship and recertify annually.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and sells beverages by following recipes and preparation techniques for wines, beers, cocktails and nonalcoholic beverages, adhering to proper handling, dating, labeling and rotation.
  • Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring accurate charges, returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register.
  • Setting up the bar each day; restocking and preparing fresh garnishes and syrups in the prep area.
  • Taking and retrieving food orders for those eating at the bar top, and delivering drink orders for servers to tables when needed.
  • Completes routine cleaning according to list provided for daily, weekly, and monthly schedules, including dishwashing as needed.
  • Contribute to daily, holiday, and theme drink menus; informing guests of specials and new drinks.
  • Maintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment.
  • Checking identification to ensure guests are of the legal age to purchase alcohol.
  • Maintains or exceeds standards of personal appearance, grooming, cleanliness, and hygiene. This includes wearing proper uniform at all times while working.
