About The Position

The Bartender position prepares all alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for members and guests of the club, according to professional standards. This role requires a highly active, multitasking individual who is proactive in anticipating and responding to members’ needs. The bartender must present a professional appearance and attitude at all times and be comfortable with taking direction and communicating with co-workers. This is a highly responsible and well-organized role focused on tending to members' daily needs.

Requirements

  • Prior bartending experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Minimum age requirement of 18 to serve alcoholic beverages per CT Legal Guidelines.
  • Awareness of state and local laws concerning the sale of alcoholic drinks.
  • Unexpired bartender certification
  • Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
  • Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Highly active, multitasking type of environment
  • Frequent Standing for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent Walking
  • Excellent physical fitness, visual acuity and sense of urgency to attend to members’ needs

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for members and guests according to professional standards.
  • Mix standard drink recipes quickly and accurately.
  • Follow member preferences or recipes when requested.
  • Check identification of members and guests to ensure they meet the minimum drinking age.
  • Take drink orders and serve drinks using the Club’s POS computer system to charge members.
  • Fill drink orders placed in the restaurant (beverages usually served by Servers).
  • Arrange bottles and barwares.
  • Wash glasses and clean the bar.
  • Remove empty bottles and trash.
  • Replace empty beer kegs.
  • Stock the bar by bringing liquor bottles, mixed drink ingredients, and other bar supplies from the storeroom to the bar.
  • Keep track of wines, beers, liquors, and other supplies, reporting needed items to the Food and Beverage Manager.
