About The Position
The Bartender is responsible for certain duties including, but not limited to, interacting with customers, setting up and maintaining a clean and sanitized serving area, stocking bar, mixing and serving alcoholic beverages, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, receiving payment for food and beverages using a computerized register and other related responsibilities. Ensures compliance with applicable state alcohol laws and standard operating procedures provided by the management.
Requirements
- Minimum of 21 years of age.
- Depending upon location of hire, Alcohol Awareness Training may be required to obtain within a designated time frame.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- One year of bartending experience and/or training preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provides outstanding customer service and effectively communicates with patrons and co-workers.
- Demonstrates ability to establish effective working relationships and incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Maintains quality control standards.
- May operate equipment such as, but not limited to, beverage machines, toasters, ice cream dispensers, cash registers, computerized cash registers, steam equipment, dishwashers, refrigerators and freezers.
- Maintains inventory control through conscientious use and careful monitoring of all food and beverage products and communicates with management in a timely manner when supplies are needed.
- Performs opening and closing duties which include, but are not limited to: inventory, cash control, cleaning, and restocking.
- Accountable for credit card and cash transactions.
- Serves catered parties from service or portable bars.
- Follows established systems for taking, placing, and delivering orders.
- Follows established standards for greeting, cocktail service, food delivery and general service techniques.
- Answers questions regarding any menu item and offers suggestions of menu items when appropriate.
- Practices tray service for all food and beverage service.
- Possesses ability to work independently when necessary.
- Possesses an understanding of food safety and sanitation processes.
- Demonstrates ability to be on feet for the majority of the day and walk far distances.
- Performs other duties as required.
