About The Position

Atkins Golf Club, located in Urbana, IL, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a part-time Bartender! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management. This is a seasonal position that will last 6 months or less.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • ServSafe Certified (Food & Alcohol) or TIPS equivalent.
  • Knowledge of wine, spirits, beer, and current trends in the industry and marketplace.
  • Possesses knowledge of cocktail recipes.
  • Professional and courteous demeanor.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to company values.
  • Exceptional personal hygiene and positive representation of the organization to Troon employees, clients, and vendors.
  • Fluent in English speaking, writing, and understanding.
  • Must meet state age requirements for handling alcoholic beverages.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in restaurant point-of-sale (POS) systems (e.g., POSITOUCH and MICROS).

Responsibilities

  • Makes and serves guests delicious beverages in accordance with established standards and with hospitality and professionalism.
  • Creates memorable dining experiences through personalized and genuine interactions.
  • Stocks bar, mixes, and serves alcoholic beverages; assists in cost control, inventory, and maintaining inventory records.
  • Assists department leaders with the creation of seasonal cocktails and development of the menu.
  • Assists department leaders with the social media schedule and creation of content.
  • Maintains inventory control through conscientious use and careful monitoring of all food and beverage products; communicates with management in a timely manner when supplies are needed.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable state liquor laws and standard operating procedures provided by management.
  • Communicates guest requests and concerns to the Department Manager.
  • Performs opening and closing duties that include, but are not limited to: inventory, cash control, cleaning, and restocking.
  • Accountable for checks and cash transactions; utilizes Point of Sale System.
  • Reviews banquet schedule for changes, calendar of events, and special events.
  • Serves catered parties from service or portable bars.
  • On occasion serves meals to guests.
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as required.
