About The Position

This is a 10-week summer internship program designed to give students real exposure to how Dow Jones operates. Interns work on meaningful projects alongside teams, gaining hands-on skills that impact the business. The program includes pairing with a mentor, connections with senior leaders, and professional development sessions. Interns join a diverse global intern community to share experiences and build networks. The goal is to provide a supportive, engaging, and fun environment where work is valued and growth is prioritized. The role involves working with various editors on a variety of stories, reporting and writing breaking news on business and economic topics. The intern will report to an Assistant Managing Editor based in New York and will be based in the New York City newsroom.

Requirements

Completed at least two years towards your Bachelor’s degree.
Journalism or writing experience, with published stories in a university publication or during a previous internship.
Ability to report and write clearly, concisely, and factually in a timely manner.
Interest in business journalism.
Ability to communicate with editors about story progress and participate in the editing process.
Enrollment in a 4-year undergraduate degree program.
Graduating between December 2027 and July 2029 (U.S.).
Does not require sponsorship for employment visa status (now or in the future) in the country where applying.

Responsibilities

Report and write breaking news stories about business, finance, and the economy.
Cover different sectors such as technology, retail, real estate, banking, commodities, and personal finance.
Write stories ranging from stock market reaction to earnings reports.
Help make Barron’s a go-to source for sharp analysis on daily news stories.
Work with seasoned reporters on research and reporting for feature stories.
