The Legal Services Division of Alberta Justice is the civil legal advisor to the Government of Alberta. Legal officers in the Division practice in diverse areas of law. Within the Division, the Family and Surrogate Court Litigation Team provides legal services and advice to Children and Family Services, Community and Social Services, Maintenance Enforcement and the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee. FASCL also acts as the Central Authority with respect to Hague Convention matters (International Child Abduction).
