Barre Instructor - Cape Ann YMCA
About The Position
The YMCA of the North Shore is seeking an experienced Barre Instructor for its Glen T MacLeod Cape Ann YMCA location in Gloucester, MA. This part-time position involves leading dynamic and engaging Barre classes, with a current schedule including Wednesdays at 7:00 AM and Thursdays at 5:00 PM. The instructor will be responsible for creating a welcoming and supportive environment, guiding participants through safe and effective workouts, demonstrating proper form, and offering modifications for all fitness levels. The role is ideal for someone passionate about Barre and motivating others, looking for a flexible opportunity to make a positive impact in the community by helping members build strength, improve flexibility, and achieve their fitness goals.
Requirements
- Experience teaching Barre or similar group exercise formats
- Strong understanding of fitness and movement principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage and motivate a diverse group of participants
- Reliable, energetic, and team-oriented
- Current Barre certification or relevant group exercise certification
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within required timeframe)
- Strong knowledge of proper form, alignment, and injury prevention
- Ability to provide safe and effective modifications for all fitness levels
- Passion for health, wellness, and helping others succeed
