About The Position
Responsible for daily management of the surgical and outpatient barn and stalls. Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be as assigned.
Requirements
- Prior equine experience is required.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information one on one, in small group situations, to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, add subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
- Computer literacy in common computer software programs.
- Equine restraint/handling and horsemanship skills.
- Knowledge of MSDS use and personal protective gear including (but not limited to) gloves, masks and eyewash stations are required.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to gain proficiency using HVMS preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning of stalls
- Feed patients daily according to veterinary instructions
- Water patients and ensure access to clean water at all times
- Strip and clean stalls
- Prepare stalls for incoming patients
- Clean contaminated stalls according to biosecurity protocol
- Monitoring patients and reporting any issue to veterinarians and/or ICU technician
- Landscape including weed eating, mowing, and watering
- Assist with patients as requested
- Assist maintenance with projects, upkeep, truck transportation
