About The Position

The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving beverages and food items promptly and courteously, ensuring a high standard of quality, consistency, and guest satisfaction. This role involves warmly greeting guests as they approach the lobby café, promoting featured beverages and food items, and employing up-selling techniques to enhance guest experience and maximize revenue. The Barista prepares branded coffee drinks according to specific brand guidelines and guest preferences, and creates other beverages requested by guests or servers following standard operating procedures, maintaining consistency and controlling costs through accurate measurements and ingredients. Key responsibilities also include maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked work area, setting up the bar and back bar in accordance with company procedures to ensure operational efficiency. The Barista monitors guest behavior and alcohol consumption to ensure responsible service, promptly notifying management of any concerns regarding overconsumption or impaired guests. This position requires verifying guest identification when alcohol is requested, complying with all applicable state and local regulations for the sale and service of alcoholic beverages. Additionally, the Barista accurately manages inventory of liquor and branded coffee products, completes requisition forms, and stores stock properly in accordance with company policies. The role also involves securing and accounting for an assigned cash bank, ensuring accurate documentation and balancing of register drawers, and responding promptly and courteously to guest requests to ensure satisfaction and resolution of any issues. Maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor at all times, in alignment with company dress and grooming standards, is also essential.
