About The Position

Intelligentsia Coffee is hiring a Barista for its Watertown Coffeebar. The role includes comprehensive coffee training, with new hires generally expected to become full-bar capable within 90 days. The starting wage is $18.24 per hour; after certification, the rate increases to $19.19 per hour. The position is eligible for tips, which average $5.00–$7.00 per hour.

Baristas prepare and serve beverages to freshness and quality standards, maintain coffee knowledge to educate guests, and provide hospitable, sincere, and friendly service. Employees follow operating policies and safety protocols and may suggest improvements. Shifts average about seven hours, and the company says it does its best to accommodate employees’ schedules. The coffeebars are not open late at night.

Employees who consistently work more than 20 hours per week are eligible for a benefits package. The posting describes the role as full-time for employees working 20 or more hours per week.

Requirements

• Speak and read English proficiently.
• Be dependable and maintain good attendance and punctuality.
