About The Position

Under direction from the Coffee Shop Lead, this position assists the Coffee Shop area of the Recreation Center. Manage and maintain equipment in the Coffee Shop. Maintain positive customer relations specifically in the Coffee Shop area and throughout the Recreation Center. Remain current with all certifications, trends in industry, and safety standards. Promote a marketing plan for the ongoing development of the Coffee Shop. Conform to established program budget(s), monitor expenditures, and provide assistance for budget development and cost control activities. Maintain accurate records of inventory; and resolve discrepancies when they occur. Assist in preparation of reports and other evaluation methods. Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain Arizona Food Handlers' Card/Certification within one (1) month of employment
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply marketing practices
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
  • Ability to maintain positive community and working relationships
  • Competency in the use of MS Office Software
  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
  • Candidates may be required to pass a medical exam.
  • Candidates must pass all required training and/or testing.
  • Employees may be required to work a non-standard schedule, which may include shift work (other than day shift) at a 24/7, 365-day operation.
