Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years recent (within the last 5 years) barista or beverage service experience in a high-volume or premium environment
- “Food Safe” Certification required.
- Knowledge of specialty coffee, espresso-based drinks, and tea preparation
- Cash handling and POS operation experience
- Ability to operate standard coffee equipment efficiently and safely
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to perform with minimal supervision
- Strong guest service focus with the ability to anticipate and respond to guest needs
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
- Impeccable grooming and professional presentation
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve specialty coffee, tea, and other beverages to Fairmont standards
- Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation of all beverages served
- Provide prompt, courteous, and personalized service to all guests
- Assist with inventory control, stock rotation, and replenishment of coffee and related supplies
- Operate the point-of-sale system to process cash, credit, and other transactions accurately
- Balance cash, prepare daily reports, and reconcile sales at the end of the shift
- Suggest and upsell food and beverage items to guests
- Clean and maintain barista station, equipment, and storage areas
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation standards in beverage preparation and service
- Other duties as assigned
