About The Position

Philz is hiring a Barista in Burlingame to help build culture and community through warm, authentic, kind, positive, and passionate customer service. The role involves staying active throughout the day and working collaboratively with a communicative, supportive, and respectful team. Baristas are expected to embody Philz’s core values: Obsess Over Customers & Team, In Pursuit of Better, and Be Kind & Keep it Real. No prior barista experience is required. Philz will teach the necessary skills to candidates who bring a passion for people and a willingness to learn. The workplace is described as inclusive, fun, creative, and vibrant, with flexibility in scheduling and the opportunity to be yourself. The estimated starting base hourly rate is $20.50 to $21.50. Team Members participate in a tip pool and may earn an average of $6.00 additional per hour. Philz also offers a range of benefits and support programs.

Requirements

A passion for people and a willingness to learn; prior barista experience is not required.
Ability to operate a variety of machines, tools, and equipment.
Visual acuity to make general observations regarding safety and accuracy of work.
Ability to remain stationary for at least 3 hours.
Ability to stand, walk, stoop, and kneel.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds intermittently and lift 3 pounds to shoulder height repetitively.
Ability to grasp, finger, and reach.
Ability to express or exchange information by spoken word.
