About The Position

Le Méridien Chicago - Oakbrook Center is seeking a Barista to join their Food and Beverage Team. This role involves maintaining the cafe setup, preparing and serving drinks, handling customer orders and payments, and ensuring food safety standards are met. The hotel, managed by Crescent Hotels & Resorts, emphasizes creating exceptional guest experiences and fostering a supportive environment for its associates.

Requirements

• Six months of experience as a Barista or similar experience in Food and Beverage.
• Passion for delivering excellent customer service and making sure guests have a memorable experience.
• Keen eye for detail.
• Respect the importance of correct order delivery.
• Ability to maintain an impeccably clean work-station.

Responsibilities

• Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the cafe on a daily basis.
• Requisition and stock coffee, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and grab & go items based on projections from the daily occupy forecast to ensure product quality.
• Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promote and document orders for drinks.
• Make and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes with a sophisticated style.
• Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to food safety.
• Input orders into a register at the point of sale and create a check for each guest, including those served by other beverage servers, to maintain accountability of all beverages served.
• Receive cash from guests, make any change needed, verify validity of charges, record charges, and ensure vouchers are properly executed, in order to balance all moneys.
• Lock up and store all beverage, food and other equipment items, deposit cash drops and secure bank.
