This position involves completing opening and closing duties, which include setting up necessary supplies and tools, cleaning all equipment and areas, and locking doors. The role requires setting up, stocking, and maintaining work areas. Responsibilities include inputting orders into the cash register system, collecting payment, taking orders, recording them in the MICROS system, and preparing food and coffee beverages. The barista will ensure appliances are turned on/off at appropriate times, bus coffee cart areas and tables, and clean dishes, utensils, work areas, tables, and equipment throughout the day. Obtaining the required change for expected business levels, counting the bank at the end of the shift, completing designated cashier reports, resolving discrepancies, dropping off receipts, and securing the bank are also key duties. The role also requires adherence to all company and safety and security policies and procedures, reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions, and completing safety training and certifications. Maintaining a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance, protecting company assets, and welcoming and acknowledging guests according to company standards are essential. The barista will anticipate and address guests’ service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Communication skills are important, as is developing and maintaining positive working relationships and supporting the team to reach common goals. Ensuring adherence to quality expectations and standards, visually verifying information, and inspecting tools and equipment are also part of the job. Physical requirements include standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance. Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination are needed for manipulating objects, and the ability to move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces, as well as up and down stairs or service ramps. Reaching overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping, is also required. Other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors may be assigned.
