About The Position

This position involves completing opening and closing duties, including setting up supplies and tools, cleaning equipment and areas, and securing the premises. The Barista will stock and maintain work areas, input orders into the cash register system, and handle customer payments. Responsibilities include taking orders, preparing food and coffee beverages, and ensuring appliances are operated correctly. The role also entails bussing coffee cart areas and tables, cleaning dishes and equipment, and managing cash handling procedures, including counting the bank and completing cashier reports at the end of each shift. Furthermore, the Barista must adhere to all company safety and security policies, report any accidents or unsafe conditions, and complete required safety training. Maintaining a clean and professional appearance, protecting company assets, and ensuring confidentiality are also key aspects of the role. The position requires welcoming and assisting guests according to company standards, anticipating their needs, and providing excellent customer service. Effective communication, positive working relationships with colleagues, and adherence to quality standards are essential. The role involves visual inspection of information and equipment, and requires the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods. Physical tasks include moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 25 pounds, manipulating objects with fine motor skills, and navigating various spaces including stairs and ramps. Reaching, bending, twisting, and stooping are also part of the job duties, along with performing other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Complete opening and closing duties including setting up necessary supplies and tools, cleaning all equipment and areas, locking doors, etc.
  • Set up, stock, and maintain work areas.
  • Input orders into cash register system and collect payment from customer.
  • Take orders, record in MICROS system and prepare food and coffee beverages.
  • Ensure that appliances (e.g., coffee makers) are turned on/off at the appropriate times.
  • Bus coffee cart areas and tables.
  • Clean dishes, utensils, work areas, tables and equipment throughout the day.
  • Obtain change required for expected business level.
  • Count bank at end of shift, complete designated cashier reports, resolve any discrepancies, drop off receipts, and secure bank.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language.
