About The Position

A Barista is a professional who makes and serves beverages such as coffee, tea, and cocktails. They are responsible for taking customer orders and payment, sanitizing work areas, and cleaning seating areas and equipment/tools. The barista's responsibilities also include educating customers on the drink menu, making recommendations based on preferences, upselling special items, and taking orders. To be successful in this role, you should have exceptional customer service skills and a vast knowledge of how brewing equipment operates. This role requires the ability to work various shifts.

Requirements

Previous work experience as a Barista or Bartender
Valid Alcohol Awareness Card
Hands-on experience with brewing equipment
Knowledge of sanitation regulations
Flexibility to work various shifts
Basic math skills
Ability to gauge customers’ preferences
Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

Greet customers as they enter
Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios)
Prepare beverages and cocktails by following the recipes
Serve beverages and prepared food (cookies, pastries and muffins)
Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
Keep the bar area clean
Maintain stock of cups, sugars, and grab and go items
Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
Comply with health and safety regulations
Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items
Coordinate and cooperate with other departments as necessary in the completion of the above essential duties.
Provide information and answer questions about the resort to resort guests.
Any other duties that may contribute to the cleanliness, orderliness and overall efficiency of the entire operation and all of the tasks contained therein.
