About The Position

This role is responsible for preparing and serving coffee, espresso drinks, and related food and beverage items to customers. The Barista will welcome customers, educate them on the menu, prepare drinks according to recipes, and sell coffee and related equipment. Additionally, the role involves maintaining inventories, ensuring equipment is operational, upholding safety and sanitation standards, and contributing to process improvements and store appearance.

Excellent customer service skills
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position

Previous work experience as a Barista is an asset

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, and related food and beverage items.
Welcome customers by determining their coffee interests and needs.
Educate customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu, answering questions.
Prepare coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques.
Sell coffee and coffee grinding/brewing equipment by explaining differences in coffee beans and preparation machines.
Maintain inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply and stocking coffee brewing equipment, pastries, and cookies.
Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
Improve quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes, implementing changes, and maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar.
