About The Position

This role is responsible for preparing and serving coffee, espresso drinks, and related food and beverage items to customers. The Barista will welcome customers, understand their needs, educate them on the menu, and prepare drinks according to recipes. They will also sell coffee and equipment, manage inventory, maintain equipment, ensure a safe and healthy work environment, and contribute to improving store appearance and processes.

• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position

• Previous work experience as a Barista is an asset

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, and related food and beverage items.
• Welcome customers and determine their coffee interests and needs.
• Educate customers on the coffee drink menu and answer questions.
• Prepare coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques.
• Sell coffee and coffee grinding/brewing equipment.
• Maintain inventories of coffee beans, supplies, pastries, and cookies.
• Keep equipment operating by following instructions, troubleshooting, and performing preventive maintenance.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following sanitation regulations.
• Improve quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes and maintaining store appearance.
