About The Position
The Garden Hotel & Resort is looking for an energetic, customer-focused Barista to join our hospitality team. If you love coffee, enjoy creating memorable guest experiences, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to meet you. No previous Barista experience? That’s perfectly fine. We provide hands-on training for the right candidate. We’re looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong people skills, and a genuine passion for hospitality and coffee culture. The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, espresso beverages, and a variety of food items in a friendly and efficient manner. This role plays a vital part in creating a warm, welcoming experience for guests while maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked café environment.
Requirements
- A positive attitude and strong team spirit
- Knowledge of coffee and espresso drink preparation and basic food handling
- Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work well in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment
- Basic math skills and POS system familiarity
- Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts
Nice To Haves
- Previous working experience in a café, coffee shop, or food & beverage role
- ServSafe Food Handler certification
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, espresso, and specialty beverages according to established recipes and standards
- Serve food items such as pastries, breakfast items, light snacks, and grab-and-go meals
- Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment safely and efficiently
- Provide exceptional guest service by taking orders, answering questions about menu items, and making recommendations
- Handle transactions accurately using the POS system (Toast), including cash, credit cards, and room charges
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the café area, equipment, and dining areas in accordance with health and safety standards
- Restock food and beverage items, condiments, utensils, and other supplies throughout the shift
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including setup and breakdown of the café station
- Communicate low stock or equipment issues to supervisors promptly
- Communicate guest feedback to management
- Promote hotel services, daily specials, and café offerings to enhance the guest experience
