About The Position

As a Barista, you will provide excellent guest service while making quality, hand-crafted beverages. You will be responsible for educating guests about our premium coffees, teas, gelatos, and menu items. You will prepare and sell coffee drinks, such as espresso, café latte, and cappuccino, by following recipes and preparation techniques. You will operate electronic cash register system to accurately and immediately account for transaction payments; transports monies to and from the main Credit cage. You will deliver guest orders and ensure guest satisfaction through food quality checks and responding to guest complaints. You will maintain equipment by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, and performing cleaning and preventive maintenance. You will ensure a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases, shelves, and displays clean and well stocked, while continuously checking and ensuring freshness and quality of products. You will maintain a clean and welcoming dining room with attention to detail, sanitation, and safety. You will perform all other related and compatible duties as assigned and maintain strict confidentiality in all company matters.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous cash handling experience a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others; must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Previous Food & Beverage experience preferred.
  • Must have basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with issues.
  • Ability to work a flexible shift, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime, as business needs dictate.

  • Previous Starbucks/barista experience an asset.
