About The Position

Seeking a full-time Barista (Nutrition Services Cashier) to support our Coffee Shop in our Cafeteria department at Western AZ Regional Medical Center, located at 2735 Silver Creek Rd, Bullhead City, AZ. This Barista will be responsible for preparing and serving hot and cold beverages, such as coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees, smoothies and teas. The Barista (Nutrition Services Cashier) is responsible for providing excellent customer service while performing cashiering duties, preparing and serving hot and cold beverages in the coffee shop and food service area. This role supports daily retail operations by processing transactions, restocking items, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with food and beverage service. The Nutrition Services Cashier ensures a positive dining experience by following established procedures and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Food Handler’s Permit as applicable by state and county laws required
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques, recipes, and safety standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent customer service and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
  • Basic math skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with POS systems or computerized transaction systems.
  • Commitment to cleanliness, safety, and continuous quality improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of experience in cashiering or food service preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operates cash register or point-of-sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintains cash drawer accuracy and prepares deposits at the end of shift in accordance with established procedures.
  • Supports retail food service operations, including line serving, coffee preparation, and upkeep of beverage stations.
  • Maintains cleanliness of dining and cashier areas, including regular sweeping, mopping, wiping down counters, and cleaning tables.
  • Inventories and restocks food and non-food items in assigned areas, following First-In, First-Out (FIFO) product rotation guidelines.
  • Sets up merchandise and food items for purchase and consumption daily.
  • Ensures refrigerators and displays are clean, stocked, and organized.
  • Provides courteous, helpful service to customers, answering questions and addressing concerns as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
