About The Position

Big Grove Brewery is opening our first ever coffee shop attached to our Omaha taproom! As a Barista, you will create a Big Grove experience through preparing and serving coffee for our guests.   Building connections with our Omaha community and sharing a passion for relentless hospitality to our customers is essential.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a barista or food service role is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions.
  • Willingness to learn about coffee preparation and customer preferences.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional service to guests and assist teammates to do the same. Create raving fans of Big Grove through the experience that you provide them.
  • Thoroughly understand the menu, including ingredients, methods, styles and special dietary considerations.
  • Provide recommendations and answer questions to meet the needs of our guests.
  • Prepare food and/or beverages to standard recipes or customized for each guest. This could include recipe changes like temperature, quantity in ingredients and/or substituted ingredients.
  • Excel in selling products to guests
  • Enter orders accurately and timely, delivering orders in a timely manner ensuring proper presentation and temperature.
  • On a daily basis- complete pre and post shift tasks
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary environment
  • Use coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Replenish supplies like coffee beans, milk, syrups, and paper goods as needed. Assist with stock inventory and ordering.
  • Operate point of sale terminals, present accurate bills to guests and process payments
  • Maintain an organized system for handling cash, checks and receipts. Follow  proper tip procedures.
  • Treat customer concerns as an opportunity to create a life-long customer.
  • Show up ready to work, bring a good energy, respect and help your teammates and know problems/disagreements will arise and we expect you to turn them into opportunities to learn, grow and make someone’s day.
