About The Position

The Barista prepares hot and cold specialty drinks in accordance with established procedures and recipes. This role ensures and maintains proper food quality and temperature, and prepares, serves, and merchandises menu items in a manner that best enhances the products and adheres to all dietary restrictions. The Barista also ensures that all menus are posted in the proper areas and that changes to the menus have been communicated to the responsible individuals. The role involves operating the POS system while following cash handling policy and procedures, stocking assigned areas, and assisting with general sanitation of the food service department. This includes wiping walls, cleaning equipment, working in the dish room, and emptying trash cans. The Barista is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the work area at all times and completing special cleaning projects as assigned. Additionally, the role requires maintaining confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/Entity and complying with Network and departmental policies regarding employee, patient, and environmental safety, as well as attendance and dress code. The Barista will also demonstrate the Network’s Service Excellence Standards of Performance and engage in Performance Improvement activities. Financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources are also expected.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Customer service and/or food service experience preferred, but not necessary.
  • On job training will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the proper release of information.
  • Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrates/models the Network’s Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external).
  • Demonstrates Performance Improvement in the following areas as appropriate: Clinical Care/Outcomes, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety.
  • Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices.
  • Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.
