About The Position
Mozz is an Italian establishment with a touch of Newport, featuring a cheesemaking facility, upscale eatery, pizzeria al taglio, cafe, and retail market. We are seeking passionate individuals to join our team who share our excitement for food and specialties. This role is about connection and sharing our passion with the community through food. We offer an Italian Coffee Program with simple yet superior preparation and are looking to train a Barista to master our program for serving hot and cold beverages. The Barista will educate guests on our beverage and food menu, up-sell specials, and take orders. Success in this role requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks. Experience is preferred but not required, as we are willing to train the right candidate. The position requires flexibility in shifts and offers compensation including salary and tips, with the ultimate goal of ensuring an excellent cafe experience for our guests.
Requirements
- Previous work experience as a Barista or Waiter/Waitress
- Hands-on experience with brewing equipment
- Knowledge of sanitation regulations
- Flexibility to work various shifts
- Basic math skills
- Ability to gauge guests preferences
- Excellent communication skills
- High school diploma
- Ability to multi-task

Responsibilities
- Greet guests as they enter
- Describe our food and beverage menus and know all ingredients in our offerings
- Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios)
- Prepare beverages following recipes
- Serve beverages and prepared food, like cookies, pastries and muffins
- Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
- Train to learn cheese and deli offerings
- Keep the bar area clean
- Maintain stock of clean mugs and plates
- Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
- Comply with health and safety regulations
- Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items
