Requirements

  • Ability to work long hours, as needed.
  • Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist or reach with your body and arms.
  • Ability to work under variable temperatures and noise levels.
  • Near Vision - the ability to see details at close range.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time without sitting or leaning.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Ability to work in stressful, high pressure situations.
  • Ability to multi-task on a continuous basis.

Nice To Haves

  • High school education or equivalent preferred.
  • At least one year as a Barista or related customer service position preferred.
  • ServSafe certificate/alcohol training may be required if the café sells alcohol.

Responsibilities

  • Arriving at work on time to get the cafe set up and ready to open, keeping the area clean and attractive throughout the day.
  • Performing all cleaning duties – floors, tables, buffet as well as sidework duties – as the outlet closes.
  • Greeting guests, upselling food & beverage, making helpful suggestions, answering questions, remembering names or favorite choices, offering a friendly smile – and maybe even a weather forecast or a local attraction suggestion.
  • Understanding the product you are serving and keeping updated on the latest trends.
  • Offering prompt, excellent service to create a wonderful experience for the guest.
  • Handling cash/credit accurately and timely for all food and beverage as well as sundry purchases.
  • Following your hotel’s established safety and security policies & procedures.
  • Anticipating problems and calling management as needed.
