About The Position

George Howell Coffee at the Godfrey Hotel is seeking an experienced Barista with the ability to serve coffee and espresso beverages consistently and according to recipes. The ideal candidate will provide quality customer service, demonstrate knowledge of coffee products, brew methods, equipment, and tea products. This role involves serving all products with friendly, individualized attention to each customer, ensuring they are warmly received, welcomed, and engaged in sincere and friendly conversation. Responsibilities include responding professionally to questions and concerns, anticipating customer and store needs, facilitating dialogue about product offerings, and actively participating in training to advance coffee education. The barista will craft beverages adhering to company quality standards, communicate effectively with customers and co-workers, and proactively prevent negative customer service situations. Additionally, the role requires accurately ringing sales orders into the POS system, counting back change, restocking retail shelves, and routinely cleaning the bar area, retail shelving, floors, windows, grinders, and taking out the trash.

Requirements

Experience as a barista for 1+ years
Ability to serve coffee and espresso beverages in a consistent manner according to recipes
Skilled at latte art or willing to learn
Contagious energy that sets a positive example for other employees.
Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high stress.
Self-motivated, learns quickly, and multitasks efficiently.
Maintains punctual and consistent attendance.
Maintain stationary (e.g., standing) for extended periods of time frequently and be on your feet for up to 8 hours per shift
Move around the caf� throughout the day assisting staff and customers, as well as performing shift responsibilities constantly
Move and lift supplies, equipment, boxes, and other items up to 50 pounds from the floor to shelves, under the counter, and up a set of stairs frequently
Shift position in multiple directions to work all stations in the kitchen and behind the counter in the front of the house
Reach items under counter and overhead on shelves frequently
Tolerate exposure to cleaning solutions frequently
