About The Position

Skilled Wound Care is hiring Bariatric Surgeons in Huntsville, Alabama, to work as wound care physicians and lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities and other post-acute settings. The role offers clinical autonomy and a weekday schedule without nights, weekends, or call. Surgical debridement and bedside procedures remain part of daily practice, while the work is described as less physically demanding than long laparoscopic cases. Custom software is designed to reduce documentation time. No previous wound care experience is required; comprehensive wound care training is provided. The position is available full-time or part-time. Part-time schedules are 2–3 days per week; full-time schedules are 4–5 days per week. Full-time average annual earnings are listed as $250,000–$500,000, with no earning cap as an independent contractor. Compensation is per patient and per procedure, with quarterly bonus programs; top performers may earn over $500,000 through performance bonuses.

Requirements

MD or DO from an accredited institution.
Unrestricted/clear medical license in the state of practice, or eligibility to obtain one.
DEA license, or eligibility to obtain one.
Candidates must complete confidential pre-employment DiSC testing and relevant skills testing.

Responsibilities

Perform surgical and sharp debridement and other bedside procedures.
Evaluate and treat chronic, non-healing, and complex wounds.
Use advanced dressings and specialized wound protocols.
Provide collaborative care in skilled nursing facilities and the post-acute setting, following patients through healing.
Lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities across the area.
