About The Position

Atrium Health Weight Management is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join its current team of 6 Bariatric Surgeons, 6 Obesity Medicine MDs, and 4 APPs in Pineville, NC. At Atrium Health Weight Management, our specialized team of bariatric and metabolic team of physicians, surgeons, dietitians, and behavioral health specialists are committed to embracing patients where they are in their weight loss journey and provide customized, compassionate care lifelong. Our comprehensive surgical and medical programs are recognized nationally as Centers of Excellence. Our goal is to help patients reach their health goals and live their best lives. This is an outpatient only position with hours from Monday-Friday (8am-5pm). The APP will work with surgeons and obesity medicine physicians, providing follow-up visits for medically supervised weight loss and post-operative care for bariatric surgery patients. There is no call coverage required, and the patient load is approximately 20 patients daily.

Requirements

  • Must have or be eligible for a DEA license.
  • Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state one works.
  • Eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board in NC required.
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA required with expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice.
  • Nurse Practitioner – Master’s Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required.
  • License to practice as a Registered Nurse required.
  • Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required.
  • Physician Assistant – Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred.
