Requirements

  • Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English(verbal/written)
  • High School diploma or Equivalent
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to +50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including a respirator
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
  • Must be able to operate machinery and/or industrial equipment
  • Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice

Responsibilities

  • Operate all equipment associated with the barge unloading process: including drags and conveyors. While working on the barge, the unloader will use a ladder to climb walls that reach a height of approximately 6 feet
  • Operate computer programs needed to load/unload barges, trucks and skid steer
  • Hand writes tickets or use Stand Alone Scale Interface (SASI) if computer network goes down
  • Train and operate equipment associated with the Elevator process: including drags, conveyors, and truck dump. Load meal, oil and hull products into barges and trucks. Ensure accurate information of scale weights and transactions are recorded daily
  • Process samples utilizing lab equipment to obtain and record values on a computer spreadsheet and collect and analyze samples for several process areas
  • Obtain Shoreside Attendant Certification for loading oil barges
  • Enter confined spaces under proper permit conditions and supervision: including dust collectors, barges and bean tanks
  • Perform light maintenance, such as replacing valves, troubleshooting conveyors and pumps, etc. while safely using wrenches, air tools, hammers and various hand tools
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary atmosphere with a high regard for environmental impact of the operation
  • Understand and adhere to state and federal Occupational Safety and Health rules and regulations as related to plant safety. Follow all Cargill safety rules and regulations
  • Complete all housekeeping assignments, work to improve the condition of all departments, and work as a team member with a positive attitude
  • Attend various mandatory safety and department meetings
  • Communicate in a courteous and positive manner to accomplish duties effectively, working as a team with all involved
  • Assist other crush and plant personnel as needed, and will perform any other duty as requested by the production supervisor
