About The Position

The Barcode Mail Sweeper I is responsible for performing manual sorting, bundling and manipulation of various classes of mailing products through an automated process. This role involves ensuring mail is sorted accurately, maintaining the smooth operation of mail processing equipment, and adhering to strict quality control and safety procedures.

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
Ability to stand for prolonged periods at a workstation.
Ability to continuously stand, walk, reach, extend, bend, stoop, and squat throughout the shift.
Flexibility to work overtime and weekends.

Nice To Haves

Prior warehouse type setting experience.
Experience in mail processing.

Responsibilities

Perform manual sorting, bundling, and manipulation of mailing products.
Manually handle and inspect printed material to ensure mail is sorted by grouping.
Empty sort bins quickly and accurately to avoid mail jams.
Monitor for blockages or stoppages in mail processing.
Ensure sorted mail is labeled and stacked correctly in trays with all pieces facing the label direction.
Observe for folded or bent mail pieces.
Review mail that is not properly sorted or has been rejected.
Ensure sorted mail is accurately tagged according to the proper destination for quality control.
Maintain a work area free of hazards and debris.
Follow all required safety procedures and communicate safety concerns to the department manager.
Complete production timekeeping records via Pace, including logging time against activity codes, quantity produced, and materials.
Collaborate with other departments to maintain job schedules and exceed customer expectations.
Perform general warehouse duties and other assigned tasks.
