About The Position

Savannah Technical College is seeking part-time Barbering Instructors to join our college. Opportunities currently exist at Savannah and Liberty Campus locations. The role involves utilizing current curriculum and instructional materials to teach the state-approved Barbering curriculum to enrolled students, fostering effective learning in both classroom and lab settings, evaluating students’ progress, ensuring student learning outcomes are attained and recorded, preparing and maintaining documentation and administrative reports, and ensuring safety and security requirements are met. The instructor will also accept responsibility for retaining students through graduation, assist with graduate placement, and maintain good rapport with business, industry, and the public sector.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Active Georgia Master Barber license in good standing.
Three years full-time, paid work experience within the past seven years.

Nice To Haves

Barber Instructor License or prior teaching experience is preferred.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, and Saturdays.
Ability to travel to Hinesville and/or Savannah.

Responsibilities

Utilize current curriculum and instructional materials to teach the state approved Barbering curriculum to enrolled students.
Foster effective learning in both classroom and lab settings.
Evaluate students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.
Ensure student learning outcomes are attained and properly recorded.
Prepare and maintain documentation and administrative reports.
Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the classroom and laboratory.
Accept the responsibility of retaining students who enroll in the program through graduation.
Assist with the placement of program graduates.
Maintain good rapport with business, industry, and the public sector.
