About The Position

We are seeking a skilled, reliable, and client-focused Barber to join the Spa at Holbrook team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional grooming, hair styling, and shaving services tailored to each client's individual preferences and hair structure. You will maintain a pristine workstation, strictly adhere to Georgia state sanitation and infection control regulations, and deliver an elevated, welcoming hospitality experience to every client who walks through our doors.

Requirements

  • Must hold a current, active Master Barber or Barber II license issued by the Georgia State Board of Cosmetology and Barbers (Secretary of State).
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Graduation from a Board-approved barbering school or completion of an official state-registered apprenticeship.
  • Deep knowledge of and strict compliance with Georgia Compiled Rules & Regulations (Department 240). Must prominently display your physical license at your designated work area
  • Commitment to maintaining the required 5 hours of Board-approved Continuing Education (CE) credits every two years (including the mandatory 3-hour health and safety course) for biennial renewal.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, possess excellent hand-eye coordination, and exhibit manual dexterity to handle sharp instruments safely.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English effectively.
  • Strong customer service mindset with a polished, professional and resident-first approach.
  • Ability to work quickly while maintaining accuracy, cleanliness and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Perform precise haircuts, hair shaping, trimming, styling, blow-dry styling, and advanced fading techniques based on client consultation and hair analysis.
  • Provide traditional straight-razor shaves, beard trims, mustache shaping, and hot towel treatments safely and comfortably.
  • Safely analyze, apply, and execute hair coloring, permanent waving, texturizing, or chemical relaxing treatments according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Conduct thorough consultations prior to services to understand client needs, identify any apparent hair or skin conditions, document service histories, and recommend retail products for home care.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant workstation. Sanitize all tools, shears, combs, guards, and straight razors before and between every single client according to Georgia Board Rule 240-4-.03.
  • Safely dispose of used razor blades and sharps immediately in a designated, upright OSHA biohazard sharps container.
  • Uphold the establishment's standards of service by ensuring clients are draped properly, treated with the utmost respect, and given a seamless, high-quality hospitality experience.
