About The Position
The Bar-back in Banquets is an essential team member responsible for assisting bartenders during banquet events at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort. This role ensures the bar is well-stocked, clean, and organized, allowing bartenders to serve guests efficiently. The Bar-back will support high-quality guest service and contribute to the smooth operation of banquet functions.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a bar or restaurant environment is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team and follow instructions from bartenders and banquet managers.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by banquet event schedules.
- Must be of legal age to handle alcohol in the state of Florida.
Responsibilities
- Replenish bar supplies such as liquor, beer, wine, mixers, ice, glassware, and garnishes.
- Ensure bar stations are fully stocked before and during events.
- Assist in inventory counts and communicate any shortages to the bartender or banquet manager.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including wiping down surfaces, cleaning glassware, and disposing of trash.
- Ensure bar equipment is clean and in good working condition.
- Assist with post-event cleanup and resetting the bar area for the next function.
- Assist bartenders in providing excellent service by preparing garnish trays, refilling ice bins, and other preparatory tasks.
- Ensure guests have a positive experience by maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor.
- Assist in setting up and breaking down bar stations before and after events.
- Help with transporting and organizing beverages and supplies for different banquet locations within the resort.
- Follow all resort policies and procedures, including safety and sanitation standards.
- Adhere to state and local laws regarding alcohol service and safety regulations.
