About The Position

The primary responsibility of the Barback is to act as the critical support system for our Bartenders. In order for our bars to function properly, we require our Barback to work incredibly hard and be in constant communication with the Bartenders (as well as the rest of the Service Team). Barbacks are an integral part of the Bar Service Team. It is their responsibility to ensure that the bar is always stocked with necessary items for proper service and to expedite guests’ drink orders by providing quick and efficient support to the Bartenders.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • At minimum 1 year experience as a bar porter and/or bar back, preferably in a high-volume nightclub or high-volume restaurant.
  • Must have knowledge of beverages, glassware, and garnishes.
  • Requires effective communication in English, both verbal and written form in a professional manner.
  • Must be neat and clean in appearance and physically fit to perform the duties required.
  • Must be able to stand or walk a minimum eight-hour shift & work inside assigned bar area in the venue.
  • Must be able observant and quick to respond to various situations while also multitasking and handling stressful situations.
  • Must be able to operate: cash register, two and six wheel carts, juice, soda and liquor guns, cutting boards, coffee and frozen drink machines, ice machines, shot glasses, mixers, pourers, blenders, beer keg/soda/wine/juice hook-ups and knives.
  • Must be able to twist, tow (push or pull), reach, bend climb and carry objects as necessary.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and manually push/pull up to 150 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in a fast pace and high-volume environment in the presence of areas containing second hand smoke.
  • Must be able to work inside and outside at all times of the year as needed, based upon business volumes.

  • Maintain constant communication with Bartenders and the rest of the Service Team.
