About The Position

The Bar Bartender role is located in the nation’s first skyscraper, Loews Philadelphia Hotel. This position involves crafting signature cocktails, serving beverages with precision and flair, and bringing creativity and energy to every guest interaction. The ideal candidate will combine strong customer engagement skills with meticulous attention to detail to ensure a vibrant and welcoming bar atmosphere. This role requires working collaboratively with a dynamic team to deliver seamless, enjoyable, and memorable experiences.

Requirements

Previous experience in a food and beverage setting is required.
Bartending experience highly preferred.
High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
Comprehensive understanding of alcoholic beverages, cocktail recipes, preparation techniques, appropriate glassware, and bar equipment.
Knowledge of legal regulations for alcohol service (TIPS or local State approved certification or ability to obtain is required).
Strong guest service skills with a focus on creating memorable experiences.
Basic proficiency with computer systems for order processing and inventory tracking.
Physical ability to stand, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Responsibilities

Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, wine, beer, and specialty drinks, following recipes and guest preferences.
Create and recommend unique cocktails tailored to individual guest tastes.
Ensure every drink meets the highest standards of quality and presentation.
Greet and engage guests with a warm, welcoming attitude, delivering personalized service.
Take drink orders from guests and servers, answering questions about menu options.
Handle guest complaints or special requests professionally to ensure satisfaction.
Set up the bar at the start of each shift, ensuring all equipment, garnishes, and supplies are ready for service.
Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including glassware, surfaces, and waste disposal.
Monitor and report inventory levels for beverages, garnishes, and supplies to prevent shortages.
Follow all safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations, including verifying guest identification.
Monitor guest alcohol consumption and enforce responsible service practices.
Adhere to all state and local laws regarding the sale and service of alcoholic beverages.
Collaborate with servers, barbacks, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth and timely service.
Assist with restocking supplies and support barback duties during busy periods.
Foster a positive team environment while delivering exceptional service.
Regular attendance in conformance with standards.
May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs.
Required to attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
