About The Position

A barback is responsible for stocking bars, clean-up of areas and assisting bartenders as needed. They are expected to provide prompt, pleasant, courteous, and efficient service, utilize alcohol awareness training at all times, and complete all side work duties to ensure the work area is prepared for the succeeding shift. The role involves offering unique service while sustaining a level of professionalism that will encourage guests to return. Key duties include ensuring all backup supplies are stocked (e.g., glassware, napkins), keeping all ice bins full, and ensuring all liquor bottles without seals are returned to the liquor room. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older
Must be able to obtain & maintain an Illinois Non-Gaming License.
Must have alcohol awareness training and be certified.
Ability to be physically mobile, and stand/walk during shifts.
Must be able to move around in small spaces.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Requires bending, stooping pushing, kneeling, and reaching overhead.
Excellent guest service and communication skills.
Must be able to work in areas containing dust, varying noise and temperature levels, lighting, vibrations, crowds and air quality.
Must always present a professional appearance and demeanor.
Ability to read, write and speak English.
Always display a high level of confidentiality and integrity.
Capacity to work well with others and handle stressful situations with ease.
Possess effective learning skills.
Ascend and descend stairs and maintain equilibrium for an extended period

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma/GED preferred.
