About The Position

Topgolf is a high-energy sports entertainment venue where every shift is different, every guest brings their own energy, and the people who work here make it all happen. We are seeking a Bar Back who thrives behind the scenes, keeps things stocked and clean, and loves being part of a high-energy bar team. This role requires speed, organization, and a genuine commitment to helping the team deliver best-in-class service. The Bar Back is the engine behind the bar, supporting the bartending team by keeping the bar stocked, clean, and fully operational throughout every shift. This role requires a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with availability to work during peak periods, special events, and high-volume seasons.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain required alcohol service licenses and certifications for your location.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older as required by state or local law.
  • Ability to remain on your feet and in motion for extended periods throughout the shift, including standing, walking, and moving quickly between the bar, storage areas, and service stations; this role requires sustained physical stamina and pace throughout the duration of each shift.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 50 pounds independently and up to 75 pounds with assistance, including kegs, cases of product, glassware, and bar supplies across multiple areas of the venue.
  • Ability to navigate stairs, ramps, and multi-level storage and service areas when transporting bar supplies and equipment.
  • Ability to work in varying temperature environments on a frequent basis, including bar service areas, walk-in coolers, and refrigerated storage.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions including carrying, stacking, lifting, and restocking glassware, bottles, and bar supplies throughout the shift.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a high-energy bar environment that may include moderate to high levels of background noise.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume bar environment while maintaining focus, organization, and stock levels under pressure.
  • Being Resilient: You stay fast, focused, and reliable even when the bar is three-deep and everyone needs something at once. Remains calm and professional during peak service, high-volume events, and unexpected challenges. Recovers quickly when things go sideways and helps the team do the same. Manages the heat, literally and figuratively, without letting pressure affect the team's performance or morale. Brings the same hustle and attention to detail at the end of a slammed shift as at the beginning.
  • Communicates Effectively: You stay in sync with the bartending team, speak up when supplies are low, and keep the bar operating as one unit. Listens to direction from bartenders and management and acts on it quickly and accurately. Communicates proactively with the bar team about stock levels, cleanliness needs, and anything that could affect service. Flags equipment issues, safety concerns, or guest situations to management promptly. Contributes to a bar environment where every team member is set up to deliver great service.
  • Customer Focus: You understand that your work behind the bar directly enables every great guest experience in front of it. Holds themselves accountable for keeping the bar stocked, clean, and ready at all times. Anticipates what the bar will need before it runs out — and restocks before anyone has to ask. Understands that the guest experience depends on a bar that runs perfectly and takes pride in making that happen. Always looking for ways to support the team more effectively — and acts on it without being told.
  • Drives Results: You keep the bar fully operational every shift because the team and the guests are counting on you. Holds themselves to high standards for stock levels, cleanliness, and bar readiness on every shift. Moves with urgency and ownership to keep the bar stocked and the team supported throughout service. Notices when something is getting low or falling short of standard — and fixes it without being asked. Takes pride in a kitchen that runs well, looks clean, and puts out great food consistently.
