About The Position

This role involves preparing coffee breaks, carts, and stations with appropriate food and beverages as stated in the Banquet Event Order. The server will prepare tables, action stations, buffets, service carts, dessert table/carts, and cordial carts. A key responsibility is to communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen. The server will ensure courses are cleared and tables are properly crumbed, and respond to and attempt to fulfill any special banquet event arrangements. Replenishing buffet items to ensure consistency and freshness in presentation, and monitoring tableware to ensure it is presentable to guests are also crucial. The role requires monitoring and maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas. Additionally, the server will bus tables by removing and separating tableware, plateware, glassware, and flatware. The position also requires adherence to all company and safety and security policies and procedures, reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions, and completing safety training and certifications. Maintaining a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance, protecting company assets, and maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information are expected. The server will welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Communication skills are important, as is supporting the team to reach common goals and ensuring adherence to quality expectations and standards. The role requires the ability to read and visually verify information in various formats, stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, and move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects of varying weights. Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination are necessary for manipulating objects. The server must be able to move over various surfaces and perform other reasonable job duties as requested.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Less than 1 year related work experience.
  • No supervisory experience.
  • No specific license or certification required.

  • Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.
