About The Position

Evermore Orlando Resort is redefining the Orlando vacation experience with a unique blend of spacious vacation homes, flats, villas, and a luxurious hotel. This expansive 1,100-acre property integrates resort-owned rental homes, large-scale water features, and extensive recreational infrastructure, including an eight-acre lagoon, championship golf courses, numerous pools, water sports facilities, and various amenities like pickleball courts, event spaces, and dining venues. The role of Banquet Set-UP/ Houseperson is crucial in ensuring the seamless execution of events within this dynamic environment, contributing to the overall guest experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Banquet Houseperson or similar role, in a resort or hotel setting.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language at a level sufficient to communicate effectively with clients, guests, and co-workers.
  • Strong Team Player with results-driven attitude
  • Knowledge of Banquet Operations and how the Resort departments work collaboratively to meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of quality food service techniques and standards.
  • Able to handle guest requests in a detailed manner.
  • Adhere to property and company policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with a wide range of people.
  • Outstanding organizational, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, an ever-changing environment and prioritize job duties.
  • A Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record is required.
  • Alcohol Service Training, Food safety and applicable sanitation training & certification.
  • Capable of working varied shifts, including weekdays, weekends, nights, holidays and rotating schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Understand Banquet Event Orders (BEO) to ensure proper set up and service of the Event.
  • Provide friendly, professional guest service with genuine care.
  • Respond promptly, politely and effectively to guests’ inquiries, requests and concerns. Know when to alert a Banquet Captain or Banquet Manager, should the need arise.
  • Have detailed knowledge of our Banquet Menus, Wedding Menus, and all Package Pricing for all areas of Evermore Orlando Resort.
  • Meet all safety and sanitation requirements and proper Training.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Manager.
  • Cleans function rooms prior to set-up.
  • Sets equipment to daily work sheet specifications.
  • Provides required amenities, as dictated by Banquet Department standards.
  • Refreshes meeting rooms during meal and coffee breaks.
  • Breaks down meeting rooms as soon as possible after end of function.
  • Completes special projects as directed by department management.
  • Moves convention material boxes, programs, etc. from hotel receiving docks, registration areas, sleeping rooms, or suites.
  • Caring for the equipment.
  • Accommodates special customer needs, hanging banners for meetings and food/beverage functions.
