About The Position

Fast-paced and full of action—that’s banquet life! As part of the Set-Up team, you’ll prepare event spaces, set tables, and make sure everything is in place for our guests. If you like keeping things moving and being part of creating unforgettable events, this is the role for you. As a member of the Bartolotta Catering Team, the Houseman day-to-day responsibilities will vary based on the needs of the business but will include a range of areas outlined below.

Requirements

Strong customer service and hospitality industry mindset
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize multiple projects.
Must successfully function as a team player in a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment, working cooperatively with all levels of employees.
May require prolonged periods of standing
Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds
Walking and standing on multiple surfaces including, but not limited to, carpeting, stone or concrete, or kitchen tiling, some with potentially slick surfaces.

Responsibilities

Set-up and take down of Banquet Rooms according to function specifications.
Confer with guests and clients to determine event requirements.
Assist in transporting heavy materials such as staging, tables, and chairs to the event space.
Check and appropriately adjust temperature and lights and ensure electric hookups are working.
Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the areas during and after events.
