Status: Non-Exempt Reports to: Banquet Manager JOB SUMMARY The Banquet Server is responsible for providing exceptional service during banquet events, ensuring guests have a memorable experience. This role involves setting up, serving, and breaking down events while maintaining high standards of hospitality and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal abilities
  • Previous experience in hospitality or banquet service preferred
  • Sitting: Occasional
  • Standing/Walking: Frequent, including during event setup and service
  • Lifting/Carrying: Up to 50 lbs, including banquet equipment and supplies
  • Other Physical Requirements: Frequent handling, grasping, and crouching

Responsibilities

  • Set up banquet rooms according to event specifications, including arranging tables, chairs, and decorations.
  • Serve food and beverages to guests in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist with the breakdown and cleanup of banquet rooms after events.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and inquiries, ensuring their satisfaction.
  • Handle guest complaints professionally and efficiently, resolving issues to maintain a positive experience.
  • Provide assistance with special accommodations and requests as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with other banquet staff to ensure smooth event execution.
  • Assist in training new banquet servers on service standards and procedures.
  • Support team performance by maintaining a positive and cooperative work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with the Banquet Manager and other team members to ensure event success.
  • Report any issues or concerns promptly to management.
  • Maintain accurate records of service and inventory as required.
  • Ensure a safe environment for guests and staff by following hotel safety policies.
  • Comply with all industry regulations and standards.
  • Report any safety hazards or incidents immediately.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas
  • Display courteous behavior with guests and team members
  • Report any unsafe conditions immediately
  • Ensure hotel equipment is in proper working condition
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
