About The Position

The Stanford Park Hotel is seeking a Banquet Server to join their team. Banquet Servers are responsible for creating the perfect setup for every event, catering to individual guest needs, and ensuring a flawless occasion with friendly, gracious, and professional service that upholds the hotel's high standards.

Requirements

  • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
  • Able to communicate effectively with the public and other team members.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Able to read, listen and communicate effectively in English.
  • Able to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner.
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Able to move through a crowded room to serve Banquet guests.
  • Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Meets legal age requirements for the position.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma is preferred.
  • Three to six months prior Food and Beverage experience is preferred.
  • Excellent wine knowledge is also preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Report to F&B Manager at the beginning of the shift for assignment of various functions.
  • Review Banquet Event Order to familiarize self with upcoming function.
  • Assist in setting room by placing china, glass, silverware, linen, props, service equipment etc., in their proper place.
  • Prepare bread baskets, lemons, and ice water, butter, cream and accompaniments and refills salt/pepper shakers.
  • Greet guests in a friendly manner with a smile.
  • Carry and serve Banquet meals to assigned section.
  • Display knowledge and recite food entrée and preparation to the guest.
  • Regularly monitor station to ensure all guests’ needs are met.
  • Replenish beverages as necessary to ensure overall guest satisfaction.
  • Observe stations to respond to any additional requests and to determine when the meal has been completed.
  • Promptly remove dishes as guest completes each course and/or at the end of the meal.
  • Clear tables at the end of the function.
  • Place items in the designated storage area.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
