About The Position

The Banquet Server serves guest needs by providing exceptional knowledge of food & beverage menu items as well as information regarding preparation methods. This includes each selection’s, origin, taste, and preparation method. The role requires a passion for food and wine and exceptional service. Responsibilities include offering pre-determined menu selections, communicating guest orders and special requests to the Banquet Manager or kitchen, transporting items to the guest table in a timely manner, greeting guests professionally, responding to guest concerns, assisting with event setup and breakdown, and performing other assigned tasks.

Requirements

Legal work authorization in the United States required

Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities. This will include early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Some travel may be required.
Preferred experience in a luxury hotel in food and beverage service
Strong oral presentation skills
Ability to follow detailed instructions regarding events
Ability to multi-task in a high volume and demanding environment
Strong problem-solving skills, ability to handle difficult situations

Responsibilities

Serve guest needs by providing exceptional knowledge of food & beverage menu items as well as information regarding preparation methods, including each selection’s, origin, taste, and preparation method.
Offer pre-determined menu selections to each table.
Communicate guest orders including any special needs or requests to the Banquet Manager or kitchen.
Transport items to the guest table in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality.
Greet guests in a professional manner and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
Assist in set-up of linen, china, glass, silver, and accent pieces for each function according to the banquet event order.
Plate, prepare and serve food.
Assist with set-up and breakdown of banquet events.
Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by management.
