About The Position

Provides exceptional food and beverage service during events and banquet functions, in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

Responsibilities

  • Performs related banquet set-up tasks such as the preparation of tables, buffet stations, beverage stations, tables, etc., according to the Banquet Event Order (BEO).
  • Provides immediate attention to guests upon arrival.
  • Passes hors d’oeuvres and beverages during cocktail hour.
  • Garnishes and decorates dishes prior to serving.
  • Serves all courses of meal presentations by delivering outstanding service, in a friendly, attentive manner that exceeds the members' and guests' expectations.
  • Pours and replenishes wine, coffee, water and/or other beverages served with and after the meal.
  • Polishes glassware, china and silverware.
  • Communicates additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs and special requests to Captain.
  • Responds promptly, courteously and effectively to guest inquiries, requests, and concerns.
  • Clears and resets tables at the conclusion of each course and at the end of the meal.
  • Assists in closing functions by performing various tasks such as removing linen, bussing glasses, dishes, silverware, etc.
  • Resets banquet room according to specifications to ensure the readiness of the room for the following function.
  • Takes directives from Captains and Management.
  • Adheres to all Club food and beverage handling safety and sanitation policies and procedural training.
