About The Position

To serve the Mission, Vision and Values of REH, Inc. by providing excellent food service to banquet guests and assisting in preparation and clean-up of event space.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and experience working in a food handling position is required.
  • One year customer service experience.
  • 2+ years of verifiable high-volume restaurant, fine dining, catering, country club or hotel experience.
  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
  • Excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of Set-up and break down, as well as lifting/carrying heavy trays.
  • Knowledge of fine dining and proper table set up.
  • Experience clearing and serving plated meals.
  • Working knowledge of POS system and all equipment in the concessions area.
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Possess valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for periods of time.
  • Ability to work long and irregular hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to maintain good attendance is a condition of employment and a function of this position.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with table and banquet hall prep before the event.
  • Assist with food/buffet preparation before and during the event.
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of the menu and buffet items and specials.
  • Ensure safe food handling guidelines are followed by self and team members.
  • Arrange food on serving trays in an aesthetic manner.
  • Deliver food from the kitchen and/or prep area to the banquet hall in a timely manner.
  • Serve appetizers and plated dinners to guests.
  • Serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Refill water glasses.
  • Take customer questions and/or requests, assist in a timely and satisfactory manner.
  • Keep the work area clean and sufficiently stocked.
  • Assist with post-event clean up, inventory, food storage, and tear down.
  • Work as a member of a team, communicate with staff members and supervisors to ensure an efficient work ethic and overall guest satisfaction.
  • Other duties as assigned.
