Banquet Server, Part-Time
About The Position
Fairmont Waterfront is seeking a Part-Time Banquet Server to join their team. This role involves consistently offering professional, friendly, and engaging service to guests during banquet events. The server will be responsible for maintaining knowledge of daily scheduled functions, assisting guests with menu selections, and serving food and beverages. Additionally, the position requires assisting with the setup and breakdown of function rooms according to departmental standards, and possessing full knowledge of beverage lists and menu items being served. Adherence to all safety, sanitation, and outlet policies and procedures is essential.
Requirements
- Previous service experience an asset
- Excellent communication and organizational skills

- Highly responsible & reliable
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
- BC Serving It Right Certificate required prior to commencing employment
- Must be available to work a variety of shifts (including 5:00am start times, 4:00am closing times, Christmas Day and New Years' Eve)
- Provide availability to work a minimum of two 8-hour shifts per week of the required minimum 24 hours weekly availability
- For one of these shifts, you must be available until 2:30am on a weekday (Sunday - Thursday)
- For the other shift, you must be available to work until 4:00am on the weekend (Friday or Saturday)
- Canadian work authorization
Responsibilities
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
- Maintain complete knowledge of the daily scheduled group functions, and requirements
- Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way
- Serve all food and beverage items for assigned banquet meetings
- Assist in the set up and take down of meeting and function rooms according to requirements in accordance with departmental standards
- Have full knowledge of beverage lists
- Have full knowledge of all menu items being served
- Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
