About The Position

The Duquesne Club boasts an atmosphere that warmly embraces every member with a smile and eye contact. We prioritize professionalism, friendliness, engagement, and helpfulness at all times to ensure a memorable experience for all guests. As a Banquet House Person, you will play a crucial role in setting up the banquet areas according to specified diagrams. One will also assist the food servers, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring the dining room is well-supplied with clean utensils, china, glassware, water, condiments, ice, etc. Additionally, Banquet House Persons will be assigned as part of the "wrecking crew" for banquet setups, involving tasks such as preparing rooms, setting up tables, arranging furniture, and providing necessary equipment for events.

Requirements

  • Self-motivation to complete tasks efficiently and work independently.
  • Physical strength and capability to lift and move equipment, furniture, and trays.
  • Excellent coordination, manual dexterity, and ability to work rapidly during busy periods.
  • Willingness to learn and adhere to club policies and procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and colleagues.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a banquet house person/busser at upscale dining establishments.
  • Familiarity with bartending procedures and setup for private events.
  • Ability to follow diagrams and instructions for room setups.

Responsibilities

  • Practicing safety first and adhering to emergency guidelines set by the club, state, and Allegheny County.
  • Assisting food servers in various tasks and ensuring a smooth flow of service.
  • Removing dirty dishes, replenishing supplies, and setting up tables with precision.
  • Providing attentive service to members/guests, which may include taking and serving drink orders, etc.
  • Assist in setup for events, both on/off premises, and ensuring equipment is properly transported, set up, and maintained.
  • Reporting any issues or hazards promptly to supervisors and following established guidelines for Workers Compensation.
