About The Position

The Banquet Director is responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of banquet operations at Country Club of the South, ensuring flawless execution of private events, member functions, weddings, and club-sponsored activities. This individual will lead the banquet team in delivering exceptional service, maintaining the highest standards of hospitality, and creating memorable experiences that reflect the club’s commitment to excellence. The Banquet Director will also work with the Private Events department & Member Experience department to execute events.

Requirements

  • Hospitality degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of banquet or event management experience, preferably in a private club, luxury hotel, or high-end hospitality setting.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficiency in event management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage all banquet operations, including setup, execution, and breakdown of events.
  • Ensure events are executed in accordance with club standards, event orders, and member expectations.
  • Oversee banquet staff scheduling, labor management, and cost controls.
  • In charge of weekly linen ordering for events
  • Collaborate closely with the catering sales team, culinary department, and other club leaders to ensure seamless event delivery.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and mentor banquet staff, fostering a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and service excellence.
  • Conduct continual training for staff in all aspects
  • Conduct pre-shift and post-event meetings to review service standards, assignments, and event details.
  • Follow weekly banquet flip list
  • Monitor staff performance and provide coaching, development, and recognition.
  • Serve as the primary on-site contact for banquet clients during events, ensuring satisfaction and addressing any concerns immediately.
  • Uphold and model the highest service standards, anticipating needs and exceeding expectations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with members, guests, and vendors to enhance the club’s reputation
  • Manage banquet budgets, forecasting, and expense controls to achieve financial goals.
  • Monitor inventory, supplies, and equipment, ensuring readiness for all functions.
  • Review event orders, banquet checks, and billing to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
