Responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen at all times in full accordance with State and Federal Health Regulations. Native American hiring preference for qualified candidates.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • One (1) year experience in institutional food preparation including broiler, sauté, fryer
  • Thorough knowledge of all institutional kitchen equipment
  • Ability to read, use and create recipes
  • Knowledge of proper preparation technique
  • Ability to memorize certain recipes to ensure consistency
  • Must possess outstanding interpersonal communications skills to effectively interface with guests and/or team members
  • Strong organization, prioritization and multiple-tasking skills
  • Strong attention to detail, and a commitment to quality
  • Highly adaptable with the ability to adjust to change in a positive manner
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing

Responsibilities

  • Season and cook food according to recipes
  • Cook in bulk while minimizing waste
  • Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment, using various kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and deep fryers
  • Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity
  • Prepares and serves food using appropriate dishware
  • Responsible for the seasoning, freshness, and cooking status of all foods during the shift
  • Ensure that all food is properly covered, dated, and rotated
  • Deep clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment
  • Is aware of and practices sanitation policies and regulations
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
  • Must follow all safety rules and regulations
  • Follow all general and department policies and procedures
  • Setup, operate and tear down off-site events
  • Organize, clean, and maintain catering equipment and storage areas
